Megan and Liz: Round 4. Nashville is a three hour drive from where I live in Alabama, so we left around noon. The email for VIP said to be there no later than 4:30. I think we arrived a bit after 4. There weren’t many people in line when I got there, so that was exciting. They didn’t let us in until after 5 and it was literally so hot outside. My hair was frizzing and my makeup had almost all smeared off. I wasn’t going to let this ruin my night though. When they called for VIP, several people jumped in front of me (boo!), but that gave me extra time to cool off in the air conditioning before seeing them. ;) I was probably in the middle of the line. The whole experience didn’t even seem like it was happening, to be honest. Finally, it was my turn. I walked up to them and, of course, they recognized me again because I’ve seen them three times prior to this show. We exchanged hugs, Liz told me how beautiful I looked and Megan told me that the color I was wearing looked great on me. (Thanks!) We talked for a minute, then took a picture. After the picture, Megan says, “Let’s take a group hug picture!” I was all in. Hahaha. We took selfies and talked just a little bit more. My sister wanted a picture of all of us together, so I called her over and my sister seriously cried in front of them. LOL. Unfortunately, my time was up and I had to move on. We were right in front of the stage and waited for over an hour before Kalin and Myles performed. I’ve never listened to them before, but they were pretty good. (And also cute, sooo.) After their set was over, we waited for Megan and Liz. Not sure why, but it took a while to get prepared for them. They finally came out and I lost my close spot because someone WAY taller got in front of me. :( I could barely see anything unless I stood on my toes and looked over her shoulder. I still had a wonderful time though. I sang my heart out and got to see some awesome macers while I was there. The twins performed a brand new country song for us, along with their other songs. Not sure why, but they didn’t sit on their little wooden things for the acoustic set. The whole night is pretty much a good blur to me now, but I will never, ever forget seeing our babies on their first ever headling tour. Until next time, Megan and Liz! <3
It all started last Monday when I found out a Chattanooga radio station was giving away tickets to see Megan and Liz. The show was roughly two hours from my house, and I knew my parents would agree to take me, so I tried winning tickets. I live in a different time zone, so I was in school during almost every change to win. I eventually just called the radio station and told the DJ what a huge Megan and Liz fan I was, and he gave me tickets. Almost a week passed, and I received an email saying I won two more tickets! So, I brought my best friend and my sister. The show started at 4pm today, but I live in a different state/time zone, so I had to wake up at 6:30 in the morning and leave around 11. I was so afraid we wouldn’t make it. Eventually, we did, one hour early. We were parked across the street because admission wasn’t until 3:45. I saw two girls sitting and waiting to get in, so me and my friend went and stood in front of the doors for, like, 45 minutes. We got stares, but it was totally worth it, because we were the first ones in! We ran and got front & center. After around 20 minutes, Megan and Liz came out. I’ve seen them 2 times before, but it still feels like a dream every time. They are so flawless, like, I actually feel hideous beside them. They answered fan questions from ustream, then performed Happy Never After, their FIRST full performance of Like I Would, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and Bad for Me. They then answered audience questions, and the radio DJ puts the mic up to me & says, “She looks like she has a question!” I just sat awkwardly. Hahaha. So, my mom asked them if they remembered me and they were, like, “Of course. It’s Franki, right?” Eeeeek. That was amazing. Later, I was the first in line for the meet and greet. I stood talking to them for a good ten minutes, took pictures & selfies, then I had to go. The cool thing was, everyone else was rushed off the stage & I had a while to talk to them. I felt special. ;D It all seems like a blur (a good blur) to me now, but it was truly amazing, and an experience I’ll NEVER forget.
Lets all just take a moment and acknowledge the fact that our favorite twins are going to be accomplishing one of their biggest goals in a matter of hours. I’ve been a Macer for almost 3 years, and since the first video I watched, I knew they would make it big. Like, it wasn’t even a question. After beginning in front of their webcam, to touring, music videos, commercials, and radio hits, they are playing the iHeart Radio Festival. This time, they aren’t the opening act, they are one of the main acts. LIKE WHAT EVEN IS LIFE RIGHT NOW? While they are living out their dreams tonight, I will be watching, fangirling and crying (from happiness, of course.) from home. Megan & Liz, I’ve never been so proud.
